An incredible early garden gate made in Dunedin, New Zealand, by S and J Manson. This 1890s gate is still incredibly strong and durable, making it an exceptionally rare find.
A blacksmith named James Manson and his wife Christina left for Otago in 1878 and arrived on the Auckland in 1879. Their daughter was buried at sea after passing away during the trip. After relocating to Dunedin, they had five more children there.
