French Vineyard Cross

Circa 20th Century.

Size 52cm long x 15cm wide x 1.04m tall.

Here we have an amazing piece of garden décor, an antique French Iron Cross that dates to the 20th century. These crosses were seen in the countryside of France, where they were used as silent guardians of vineyards. 

We believe this decorative garden antique has been outside for years. The single piece of carved granite would have been smooth at the beginning of its life, but as you can see now. It has been worn away by being exposed to the weather creating a rough finish.
