Circa early 1900s.
Size 3.92m wide when closed together x 1.92m high.
These are an incredibly fine pair of wrought iron stately entrance gates from shortly after the turn of the century.
Skilled Blacksmiths would have manufactured these stately entrance gates. The metal is heated to 1500 degrees and pounded into shape repeatedly until perfect. The most elaborate designs were poured into sand casts and allowed to set, the Blacksmiths would then weld and hot rivet the parts together to make the gates you see here, just as they saw them around 100 years ago!
