This is an incredible discovery! A fantastic cast iron gate with two amazing twist design posts.
From the 1600s until the 1900s, the twist design was immensely popular.
They come all the way from Herne Bay's London Street, where they were recently removed from an early residence facing the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
These cast iron Masterpieces date from the 1890s, when the home was initially built. We are pretty confident that these spectacular piecesย were imported from England because NZ didย not cast steel locally until 1969.
Rare, magnificent ornamental garden objects at their best, with impeccable provenance.

Mark and Ange ChamberlainI am oh so pleased that I stumbled across Elsie Wolfe Wondrous Antiques! I am smitten by their carefully curated collections and love my purchases. The service was incredible - fast and friendly. Probably just as well they're at the other end of the country or it could get very dangerous! Thank you, William and Lily - love your work.
Diane CarterElsie Wolfe is a pretty creative variation on standard stores. It is an antique store with youth behind it. See you again soon!
