Circa 1970's.
Size 1.5m wide x 35cm deep and 1.7m high.
Possibly one of New Zealand's most iconic neon signs? The Shoe Sherriff of New Market, Auckland opened its doors in 1938 and has never moved. They did not give into bullying by developers and stayed put while the city changed around them.
This neon sign is not in working condition. It has new stand offs on one side as the UV mad a mess of the original ones. This sign will need restoration to get it going again, we have some spare neon for the other side also. This was an expenses sign to get made as the writing flashes and the boot winks and opens its mouth at you.
A very rare and good piece of New Zealand history.
